Housing law virtual conference: Join us on June 17 and 18, 2026.

Are you a community worker in Ontario? Do you help clients who have housing-related problems? If so, you’re invited to a free, virtual conference on housing law.

Day 1 will feature sessions on tenant rights, preventing evictions, repairs and maintenance, human rights in housing, and how the Landlord and Tenant Board works. These sessions will build your core knowledge of housing law.

Day 2 will focus on more specialized housing topics, including mental health and housing, gender-based violence, renovictions, tenant organizing, supporting people who are unhoused, and practical tools you can use. You will get resource handouts.

Changes to the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP): Join us on May 7 at 1 p.m.

The Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) provides limited, short‑term health coverage for refugees and other groups with certain immigration statuses. It covers them for basic health care until they qualify for a provincial or territorial plan, such as the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP).

Starting May 1, 2026, people with IFHP coverage will need to pay part of the cost for some services, such as counselling, prescription drugs, and dental care. This webinar will cover:

  • what the IFHP is
  • who can get IFHP coverage
  • what health services are covered
  • changes to the program starting May 1, 2026
