In this workshop, community workers will learn how to use CLEO’s Guided Pathways to support their clients with their legal issues. The Guided Pathways are easy-to-use online tools that explain legal processes, help people fill out the forms they need, and identify next steps, such as filing forms with the court.
The Guided Pathways cover various areas of law and issues, such as:
- Family law, including our pathway for choosing a process for resolving disputes, and court form tools for separation and divorce
- Older adults, including elder abuse, and wills and powers of attorney
- Work permits
- Housing law, including eviction, and tenant applications for repairs and money owing from a landlord
- Appealing the denial of Canada Pension Plan disability benefits
Workshops can provide training on the Guided Pathways generally, or focus on one of the areas above.
Depending on your group’s needs and interests, the workshop can cover:
- An overview of the Guided Pathways, with a demonstration of key features and outputs
- How the pathways can help your clients
- Helpful tips & tricks to get the most out of the pathways and avoid problems
- Interactive exercises
- Q & A, discussion, and feedback
