Understanding no-fault evictions: Join us on April 21, 2026 at noon.

Ontario’s Residential Tenancies Act allows a landlord to end a tenancy for reasons unrelated to a tenant’s actions. These types of evictions are called no-fault evictions.

Landlords must bring a no-fault eviction in good faith, but some landlords use them to get new tenants who pay more rent. This is known as a bad faith eviction.
