Changes to the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP): Join us on May 7 at 1 p.m.
The Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) provides limited, short‑term health coverage for refugees and other groups with certain immigration statuses. It covers them for basic health care until they qualify for a provincial or territorial plan, such as the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). Starting May 1, 2026, people with IFHP coverage will need to pay part of the cost for some services, such as counselling, prescription drugs, and dental care. This webinar will cover:
- what the IFHP is
- who can get IFHP coverage
- what health services are covered
- changes to the program starting May 1, 2026
- how to ask for coverage in special situations

- what a Pre-Removal Risk Assessment (PRRA) is and how to apply for one
