Challenging CERB and CRB overpayment notices

Recorded on April 4, 2023

We are pleased to share that Pro Bono Ontario has now started a CERB/CRB Overpayment Program for eligible Ontario residents. In the last year, the federal government has been demanding that thousands of recipients pay back their CERB or Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB). Many of these recipients are low-income people struggling to make ends meet.

How can community workers support clients who receive an overpayment notice? View our webinar to learn about options for challenging or appealing a notice. Information was also shared about financial hardship and requesting a repayment plan from the Canada Revenue Agency.

Speakers:
Amy Brubacher, Staff Lawyer, Don Valley Community Legal Services
Nabila Qureshi, Staff Lawyer, Income Security Advocacy Clinic (ISAC)
