The presenter confirmed that international students are not currently eligible for the Canada Emergency Student Benefit. Please note that international students may be eligible for other benefits, including the CERB, OW, and Emergency Assistance. If they are denied those benefits, they should contact their local community legal clinic for advice.
At 31:00, the presenter stated that Emergency Assistance was available for people who were not eligible for Ontario Works. To clarify, Emergency Assistance is not available for people who are already receiving Ontario Works.
