Know Your Rights – legal information handbooks

Know Your Rights is a series of plain-language, public legal information handbooks to empower Ontarians who are blind, partially sighted, and Deafblind to better understand their rights, navigate the legal system, and self-advocate to challenge discrimination. These resources were produced by the Canadian Association for the Blind (CNIB) Foundation with the support of The Law Foundation of Ontario.

There is also a series of four companion case studies in video format about common problems faced by people who are blind, partially sighted, and Deafblind available here: https://cleoconnect.ca/resource/know-your-rights-public-education-videos.

In addition to the formats listed below, the handbooks are also available in Braille or DAISY formats upon request - you can obtain these by emailing knowyourrights@cnib.ca.
