This workshop explores some of the rights and obligations of non-profit employers, employees, and volunteers with a special focus on creating a decent work environment.

- The speaker indicated that probationary periods are 3-6 months. While this is generally true, in exceptional circumstances they can be longer
- The speaker indicated that under the Employment Standards Act employee entitlement to notice upon termination starts at 2 weeks. However, employees that have worked less than one year are entitled to only one week notice.
