This collection of webinars, case studies and advocacy handbook was produced by Community Law School and provides information on Ontario's Compensation for Victims of Crime Act which is implemented and administered by the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board (CICB). The materials cover the scope of the Act, factors to consider before applying, the application process and what to expect at a Criminal Injuries Compensation Board (CICB) hearing. Information is also provided for community advocates within the Criminal Injuries Compensation system.
Learners are encouraged to read the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board Advocacy Handbook and the case studies prior to listening to the webinars and reviewing the webinar slides.
Please note that recorded versions of the six short webinars are available on Vimeo.com and are linked below, along with presentation slides. You can also view these webinars together at: https://yourlegalrights.on.ca/webinar/criminal-injuries-compensation-advocacy
