Underexplored Alternatives for the Middle Class

This Envision Equal Justice discussion paper describes current challenges in providing access to justice for the Canadian middle class, identifies the main approaches being used, and proposes to address the current challenges. It focuses on new ways for lawyers to provide their services, offering opportunities for the profession to consider a broader range of assistance at various price options for the middle class. This paper gives context for the needs of the middle class, describes innovations to increase access to legal services and dispute resolution processes, and affordability of lawyers services. The paper concludes with several questions to elicit further discussion and debate.
