This report describes an interim evaluation of a pilot project carried out by The Legal Clinic of Guelph & Wellington County to improve delivery of information and legal services to rural communities in their catchment area. The project involved using a van to provide outreach services to 12 small communities spread throughout the 2,657 square kilometers of the county, visiting each community 10 or more times on a regular schedule between May and October. The van allowed people to connect via Skype to a lawyer at the legal clinic, located with Guelph. Researchers found that the project was successful in connecting people living rurally to clinic services, of which many had been previously unaware.
