Report of the Legal Aid Review 2008

This report analyzes the state of legal aid in Ontario in 2008 and provides recommendations to Legal Aid Ontario (LAO) on how to improve the quality and inclusivity of legal aid in Ontario. Specifically regarding PLEI, the report reviews existing PLEI resources and agencies, emphasizing the need for more services provided to a greater population with specific needs – particularly those who cannot afford legal services. The report concludes that there is a need for more experimentation and collaboration by LAO and PLEI agencies in delivering adequate resources, both in quantity and quality.
