This summary report provides a strategic framework for setting a new direction for Canadian access to justice. It presents the current knowledge about what is wrong, what types of changes are needed, and the steps and approaches required to overcome barriers to equal justice. It discusses the need for change in access to justice and equal justice strategies. This research used information from consultations with different communities across Canada and surveys with various members of the legal profession. The Committee’s full report was to be released later in 2013 with the aim of gathering together what the Committee learned over the course of its initiative and sharing it with all individuals and organizations engaged in justice innovation.
