Measuring young people’s legal capability

This Public Legal Education Network (Plenet) report documents the findings of research it commissioned looking at young people’s legal capability within disadvantaged and marginalized communities. The work is premised on an in depth contemplation of the components of legal capability. Behavioural competencies such as knowledge of rights and remedies, the ability to spot a legal issue and plan a dispute resolution strategy, accessing assistance, effective communication skills and the capacity to manage emotions are key elements.
