Investing in Legal Prevention: Connecting Access to Civil Justice and Healthcare Through Medical-Legal Partnership

This report addresses initiatives such as medical-legal partnerships which connect access to justice with health concerns. The authors, a lawyer and a doctor, posit that unmet civil legal needs are themselves social determinants of physical and emotional health. They conclude that in order to improve access to justice, the legal sector should look to the health sector to help define legal needs, describe their prevalence, and design sustainable interventions and systems.
